Help Us Make Music!
As a patron of the Billings Symphony, there are several ways you can support what the organization does throughout the year and into the future. As a not for profit, every dollar counts! Please consider giving your tax-deductible donation to the Billings Symphony this year to support one or more of these areas:
Annual Fund
Your donation to the Billings Symphony’s annual fund is far-reaching and supports the organization throughout the year. Donations fund performances from classical concerts to special presentations such as the Nutcracker. Annual Fund dollars also support education and access programs throughout the region, including visits to area schools, senior citizen centers, and after-school sites (see EXPLORE MUSIC! for more information about our education and access programs). Your annual support of the Billings Symphony also helps offset the administrative costs affiliated with supporting all of the organization’s activities. Additional costs associated with bringing live symphonic music to the Billings community include everything from musician honoraria to hall rental, stage crew and production costs, guest-artist fees, and more.
Endowment
The Billings Symphony endowment ensures the organization’s future. Funds donated to the Billings Symphony endowment are invested for the organization’s ongoing sustainability and stability. Interest from these investments is used to support the organization’s annual operating expenses. All honoraria and memorials given throughout the year are placed in the endowment to acknowledge the legacy of those honored. People interested in making a planned or estate gift might consider the Jean G. Dimich Encore Society, which offers an opportunity to ensure the future of symphonic music in our region while receiving tax benefits and the potential for income to the donor. For more information about making a planned or endowment gift, contact BSO Executive Director Sandra Culhane at (406) 252-3610, ext. 11.
Sponsor a Chair
This program helps keep our musicians on stage and allows the Billings Symphony to continue its mission of bringing quality symphonic music to traditional and new audiences. Contributions begin at $650 and are tax-deductible.
Sponsor a Concert
Each performance of the Billings Symphony costs about $40,000, including musicians’ compensation, guest artist fees, facility rental, production & ticketing expenses, marketing, and administration. Income for each concert is generated from the following sources: 30% ticket sales, 10% concert sponsorship, 60% from the Annual Fund Drive, grants, and special event projects.
There are several levels of concert sponsorship. In addition to supporting the Billings Symphony Orchestra & Chorale, concert sponsorship provides a cost-effective way for you and your business to reach members of the Billings and surrounding communities. Call Sandra Culhane at the Billings Symphony office for details on how you can sponsor a concert.
Volunteer!
Not everything is about money. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give is your time. The Billings Symphony has many volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Call the Billings Symphony office and ask how you can get involved.
