The Glory and The Grandeur
This concert explores the myths and legends of the American West—from Grofe’s panoramic Mississippi Suite, a celebration of the mighty river, to the theatrical thrill of Peck’s The Glory & The Grandeur, a tour-de-force percussion concerto with bluesy scales and popular rhythms. Finally Copland’s Pulitzer Prize Winning Appalachian Spring takes you on a photographic journey of Montana via projected images of nationally renowned photographer, Michael Sample.

Montana Virtuosos
The first movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto is a work of youthful exuberance. It, along with Liszt’s Hungarian Fantasy and Dvorak's Cello Concerto, will showcase the talents of three Montana virtuosos. The program also spotlights the Chorale singing chorus hits from popular operas such as Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Verdi’s Aida.

Tango and Romance

Cello Passion
At your request, the season concludes with world-renowned cellist Alisa Weilerstein performing Shostakovich’s dramatic and riveting Cello Concerto. Once again, the chorale will be featured, singing Handel's Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened, and the evening concludes with Beethoven’s striking and memorable Symphony No. 7.
