Part of The Golden WestFest, Billings’ citywide cultural celebration of our western heritage, this concert explores the myths and legends of the American West—from Grofe’s panoramic Mississippi Suite, a celebration of the mighty river, to the theatrical thrill of Peck’s The Glory & The Grandeur, a tour-de-force percussion concerto with bluesy scales and popular rhythms.  Finally Copland’s Pulitzer Prize winning Appalachian Spring takes you on a photographic journey of Montana via projected images of nationally renowned photographer, Michael Sample.
